I have homebridge running on my Pi and I want to purchase the Ikea switches, buttons, and blinds for my new setup. Everything is connected via the Zigbee Stick and it works perfect for more than a year now. This binding integrates the IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway and devices connected to it (such as dimmable LED bulbs). Note, it is still reachable via Alexa/Google Assistant and via IKEA's Home Smart App: Was wondering if this can control the Tradfri lights, switches and smart plugs without the use of their hub, or would I still need that? Looking for a setup that can accommodate multiple brands/variations as easy as possible. Best of luck! Aug 17, 2017 · I then purchased the Ikea Tradfri dimming kit (1 bulb + 1 dimmer remote) so I could pair my bulbs. The gateway mainly to play around (and see if it is better than the Lightify gateway), the bulbs to add support to my Lightify binding (and yes the first one already works so I’ll get a few more ;-)). It is worth noting that the Tradfri bulbs will work with the Zigbee binding, which does not require either the Tradfri gateway or a Tradfri remote.
